Tax Back - Refunds in Northern Virginia

About $23 million that was intended to fund transportation projects will soon be returned to taxpayers in Northern Virginia and Hampton Roads.
The money was collected by transportation panels in those regions, but those efforts were halted Feb. 29 by the Virginia Supreme Court, which ruled they had no authority to collect taxes since they were not government agencies and not elected bodies of officials. The Northern Virginia Transportation Authority, for example, consists of political appointees. (More…)
