No such thing as a National Market.

Exactly! - Local Market vs. National Market

In the recent Housing Sentiment Report issued by the National Association of Home Builders and Wells Fargo there was a very interesting quote that I wanted to bring to your attention.

“Builders are worried that the national media has tended to report negative housing stories as if there is one real estate market, when in fact, there is no such thing,” says Brian Catalde, president of the NAHB in the press release. “As a result, some healthy markets are being unfairly impacted by this negative media coverage.”

Exactly!! This is the same point that I made in my post entitled it was 78 degrees in the US, expected to be 82 tomorrow…

Again, real estate is driven on a local market basis. This requires local information and local, individual decisions. These decisions can be assisted by a professional that tracks and knows the market, not a 30 second segment of doom and gloom on the evening news.
