Fairfax County follows suit - Raises Taxes Rate for Fiscal 2009
Tuesday, April 22nd, 2008Yesterday, the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors tentatively approved a $3.3 billion spending plan for fiscal 2009 that raised the property tax rate 3 cents, to 92 cents, per $100 of assessed value. The average home assessment declined from $542,400 to $524,100, and the average tax bill is projected to drop about $6, to $4,822. [...]

Fairfax City Council approves budget
Thursday, April 10th, 2008Fairfax City Council voted to approve its annual budget totally roughly $128 million, of which $116 million is dedicated to a general fund.
With its approval of the budget, the council set the real estate tax rate at 79 cents for every $100 of assessed property value, up from 72 cents for the current fiscal year. [...]
